BEA BENCH

BEA BENCH REDEFINES THE CONCEPT OF A BENCH.   THE SIDE TABLES OF THE BEA ARE INSET INTO THE MAIN BODY OF THE BENCH. THIS ALLOWS THEM TO SLIDE IN AND OUT OF THE BENCH OR TO BE TOTALLY REMOVED AND USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BENCH OR OTHER FURNITURE ITEMS IN THE ROOM. THE USE OF SHOU SUGI BAN (A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE METHOD OF PRESERVING TIMBER) TO CHAR THE WOOD HIGHLIGHTS THE SIMPLICITY OF THE DESIGN AND THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF THE TIMBER GRAIN.

ÉXI STOOL

AS THE NAME IMPLIES, THE ÉXI STOOL WAS DESIGNED AROUND THE USE OF A HEXAGON TO CREATE SYMMETRICAL LINES FLOWING FROM  THE BASE TO THE SEAT OF THE STOOL. THIS WAS INSPIRED BY THE FAMOUS JAPANESE BUTTERFLY STOOL, WHICH ALSO USED SYMMETRICAL LINES AS THE BASIS OF ITS DESIGN.

MELO

THE MAIN ASPECT OF THIS CHAIR DESIGN IS MERGING TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF MATERIALS IN AN EQUAL HARMONY. THE USE OF OAK AND MATTE BLACK STEEL AS A MATERIAL AND A COLOUR/TEXTURE. ALLOWS EACH MATERIAL TO SING AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND TOGETHER TO COMPLEMENT THE CURVES OF THE DESIGN

THE ZEE

THE ZEE SIDE TABLE IS DESIGNED FOR MODERN LIVING. IT HAS A SMALL FOOTPRINT ALLOWING IT TO BE PRACTICAL IN TODAY’S GROWTH OF APARTMENT LIVING. THERE IS ALSO AN AREA ON THE ZEE TO STORE MAGAZINES AND BOOKS, LEAVING THE DESKTOP UNCLUTTERED.
